GEIGER-PIANO PROPOSAL

As with the other research projects,  Geigercounters can be used to trigger devices other than the clicking or buzzer sound associated with them. It is possible to control MIDI devices from the output of a Geigercounter each time a cosmic radioactive particle passes through it.

In GEIGER-PIANO each MIDI-controlled grand piano has a Geigercounter set inside it to control its MIDI interface. Programmed keys are activated and each piano mysteriously plays an apreggio – one ‘ghostly’ note at a time – whenever a ray hits its device.

This work-in-progress is awaiting sponsorship for the MIDI-controlled grand pianos.
